The government of the aggressor country russia will extend the ban on the export of automobile gasoline until the end of this year. A complete ban on fuel exports was introduced in August, and a partial one has been in effect since March.
According to the russian agency Interfax, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak stated this.
According to him, in the coming days the russian government will extend the ban on gasoline exports until the end of the year. In addition, a ban on diesel fuel exports will be introduced. It will apply to non-producers.
Novak emphasized that the ban on gasoline exports will apply to all market participants. The exception will be deliveries carried out under intergovernmental agreements.
According to Interfax, citing its own sources, there is more than enough diesel fuel on the russian market.
"It is produced twice as much as it is consumed, even in the conditions of unscheduled repairs, and there is no point in restricting its export to producers," the agency writes.
If producers are still banned from exporting, the agency notes, they will have to reduce the volume of processing, which will affect gasoline production.
Russia has banned gasoline exports
In March of this year, the russian government introduced a partial ban on gasoline exports. It applied only to traders, oil depots and intermediaries.
Since August 1, the measures have been tightened. All market participants, including oil refineries, have been banned from exporting. The ban was imposed for a month.
However, on August 27, during the third week of active Ukrainian strikes on refineries and oil depots, the russian government extended the ban on gasoline exports until October 31 of this year.
Fuel crisis intensifies in russia
Reuters wrote on September 23 that Ukrainian strikes on russian oil refining facilities have caused a fuel crisis in the country. Private gas stations are suffering the most, accounting for 40% of the volume.
And yesterday, September 24, it became known that every second gas station in the occupied Crimea has suspended operations. In a number of other regions, from 12% to 14% of operating gas stations have suspended operations.
