The Cabinet of Ministers has allowed the transfer of training (neutralized) weapons from military units to the Centers for Training Citizens for National Resistance and municipal educational institutions for teaching the subject "Defense of Ukraine". This follows from a statement of the Ministry of Defense, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a resolution amending the Procedure for the Withdrawal and Transfer of Military Property of the Armed Forces. The purpose of the changes is to regulate the procedure for the transfer of training (neutralized) weapons from military units to the Centers for Training Citizens for National Resistance and centers for teaching the subject "Defense of Ukraine"," the report says.
It is noted that the draft resolution was developed by the Ministry of Defense in order to ensure the high-quality implementation of measures to train citizens for national resistance in accordance with standard curricula, the changes also create a legal opportunity to transfer training weapons for the functioning of centers for teaching the subject "Defense of Ukraine" on the basis of educational institutions.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in June the Ministry of Education and Science increased the number of hours for studying the subject "Defense of Ukraine" to 2 mandatory hours per week.
In April, the Cabinet of Ministers instructed the regional and Kyiv city state administrations to ensure the creation and functioning of centers for training citizens for national resistance.
