On the night of September 20, russia launched 40 missiles and about 580 drones on Ukraine. Civilian infrastructure was under attack.
This was stated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in a post on Telegram.
Dnipro and the region, Mykolaiv, Chernihiv, Zaporizhzhia Regions, communities of Poltava, Kyiv, Odesa, Sumy and Kharkiv Regions were under attack.
"The enemy's target was our infrastructure, residential areas, civilian enterprises. A direct hit of a missile with cluster munitions on a high-rise building was recorded in Dnipro," the President noted.
Zelenskyy reported that dozens of people were injured as a result of the shelling. Three people were killed.
The Head of State emphasized that each such strike is not a military necessity, but a deliberate strategy of russia to intimidate civilians and destroy infrastructure.
"That is why a strong international response is needed. Ukraine has proven that it can defend itself and Europe, but for a reliable shield we must act together: strengthen air defense, increase arms supplies, expand sanctions against the russian military machine and the sectors that finance it," Zelenskyy added.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on the night of September 20, russian troops launched combined strikes on several cities in Ukraine.
