Russian president vladimir putin has officially dismissed his longtime associate Dmitry Kozak, who served as deputy head of the so-called presidential administration.
The pro-kremlin agency RIA Novosti reported this.
The dismissal document was published on the kremlin website on September 18, shortly after unofficial information about such plans appeared.

According to sources close to the kremlin, Kozak has repeatedly advocated negotiations with Ukraine and the conclusion of a peace agreement. The Institute for the Study of War believes that the resignation was the result of disagreements with putin: Kozak insisted on a peaceful settlement, while the russian ruler has demonstrated a willingness to continue the war.
Note: In August, The New York Times reported that Kozak had suggested that the kremlin stop fighting and move on to negotiations. Back in 2022, Reuters reported that he had tried to persuade putin to accept an agreement with Ukraine to refuse to join NATO, but the russian leader rejected the idea and launched a full-scale invasion.
As a reminder, Deputy Head of the kremlin Administration Dmitry Kozak, one of vladimir putin's closest associates, recently called on the russian leader to stop fighting in Ukraine and begin peace talks.
His resignation shows that putin rejects peace talks with Ukraine.
