The Central Election Commission (CEC) recognized Tetiana Chornovol as an elected Member of Parliament of Ukraine after the early termination of the powers of the murdered MP Andriy Parubiy. This was stated in the CEC statement on Thursday, September 18.
The commission received a document from the Verkhovna Rada Office certifying the early termination of the powers of the MP of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy.
"The CEC considered the document and recognized Tetiana Chornovol, the next candidate in order, included in the electoral list of the European Solidarity party under No. 27, as an elected MP of Ukraine in the specified elections," the CEC statement said.

Andriy Parubiy became MP in the early parliamentary elections on July 21, 2019 in the nationwide multi-mandate electoral district from the European Solidarity party.
Recall, since February 24, 2022, Chornovol fought on the front line as part of the 72nd Separate Brigade named after Chorni Zaporozhtsi. Since 2023, she has commanded the calculation of the Stugna-P anti-tank missile complex as part of the 1st separate special-purpose brigade named after Ivan Bohun, has the military rank of junior lieutenant.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on August 30, an unknown person killed the MP and former Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy in Lviv. He fired about 8 shots from a short-barreled firearm, as a result of which the victim died on the spot.
On August 31, the suspect's whereabouts were established, he was detained in the Khmelnytskyi Region.
