Trump privately spoke about Netanyahu with swear words after strike on Qatar - WSJ

US President Donald Trump has used swear words to express his frustration with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after the strike on Qatar, where Hamas leaders were present.

The Wall Street Journal reported this, citing sources.

In recent weeks, Trump has told several of his aides that Netanyahu prefers to use military force to force Hamas to surrender, rather than the President's preferred method of negotiating a ceasefire.

His frustration reached a peak last week, hours after Israel attacked Hamas negotiators in Qatar, threatening to derail fragile peace talks.

According to sources familiar with Trump's remarks, the US President used swear words to describe Netanyahu: "He's f****** me."

Trump has reportedly spoken to senior aides, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, about how to respond to the audacious attacks.

It is not the first time Trump has used harsh language towards Netanyahu, most notably after the Israeli leader congratulated Joe Biden on his victory in the 2020 presidential election. At the time, Trump told a reporter that he considered the Israeli leader disloyal: "F*** him."

Trump's irritation has not translated into any form of public pressure. A senior Israeli official described the relationship between Netanyahu and Trump as excellent, and called reports to the contrary "fake news." He added that the interests and core values of the United States and Israel are closely intertwined.

The publication reported that one reason is that Trump and Netanyahu are kindred spirits, people who know them say. Both believe they have been persecuted by their countries' elites, including the criminal courts, and both see themselves as outsiders reforming a corrupt system.

Also, the media claims, Netanyahu is also finding ways to curry favor with Trump's inner circle and directly flatter the President. In effect, Netanyahu has formed a relationship in which he can temporarily risk Trump's wrath, knowing that it will not last long. Netanyahu often calls Trump "the best friend Israel has ever had in the White House."

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on September 9, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced strikes on the leadership of the Hamas terrorist organization in the Qatari capital of Doha. Tel Aviv said that the attack was supported by US President Donald Trump.

Meanwhile, the White House said that the Israeli airstrike on Qatar was an "unfortunate incident" and was not in the interests of either Israel or the United States.
