Household tips, work, letters. ChatGPT study shows how people use AI

OpenAI has published the first-of-its-kind study that shows who uses ChatGPT and how. It turned out that AI is increasingly being used for everyday household tasks, and among male and female users equally.

This is reported by CNBC.

It turned out that most user interactions are related to practical tasks: searching for information, getting advice and writing texts. Another 40% of requests are related to performing specific tasks, such as planning, coding or creating documents, and 11% - to self-expression, creativity and research.

Approximately 30% of use is related to work, and 70% - to personal life. ChatGPT helps make decisions and increases productivity, especially in areas that require knowledge.

The use of ChatGPT varies depending on whether the user is turning to it for work or for personal needs. The most common work use is writing, which accounts for about 40% of requests. In most cases, users ask the chatbot to edit the text, provide a comment, or translate it, rather than creating material from scratch.

The study identified three more categories of use: "Question", "Execution", and "Expression". As of July, about half of the messages belonged to the "Question" category - users often turn to ChatGPT for information and advice. For work tasks, the "Execution" category dominates, i.e. using the chatbot to perform specific work tasks.

As a reminder, the Kyiv Court of Appeal partially satisfied the appeal of the prosecutor's office and overturned the sentence of a Kyiv resident who distributed pro-russian materials and disparaged the Ukrainian language on social networks. One of the reasons for the review was the use of the ChatGPT chatbot in preparing the decision of the court of first instance.
