According to operational data, the volume of funds placed by individuals in bank accounts in hryvnia and foreign currency increased by 0.3% to a record UAH 1,302.973 billion in August.
This is evidenced by data from the National Bank, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
Since the beginning of the year, the volume of household deposits in banks has increased by 7.4% from UAH 1,212.775 billion.
Household deposits in banks in the reporting period increased by 1.5% to UAH 867.619 billion.
At the same time, the volume of household foreign currency deposits in the hryvnia equivalent in the reporting month decreased by 2.1% to UAH 435.354 billion.
Deposits of legal entities (hryvnia and foreign currency) for the reporting period remained at the level of UAH 1,484.616 billion.
The average interest rate on hryvnia deposits (average monthly) in the reporting month for legal entities remained at 10.2%, for individuals it increased by 0.1 pp to 11%.
The rate on foreign currency deposits for legal entities was 0.6%, for the population - 1%.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2024, the volume of population deposits in banks increased by 12.6% from UAH 1,078.346 billion.
In 2023, the volume of population deposits in banks increased by 16.5% from UAH 926.488 billion.
In 2022, the population deposits in banks increased by 29.3% from UAH 719.418 billion.
In 2021, household deposits in banks increased by 6.8% from UAH 674.718 billion to UAH 720.932 billion.
