Ukrainian and European sunflowerseed oil prices rose on expectations of low harvests in Ukraine and limited production across the continent.

The report said that prices rose due to forecasts of low harvests and limited production across the continent after a hot, dry summer that hampered crop development.
In Ukraine, sunflower yields will be lower than the five-year average, largely due to drought in the south, where the main sunflower cultivation takes place, the report of the European Union's Agricultural Resources Monitoring Unit says.
Other European countries are also expecting smaller harvests.
And according to the analytical company Strategie Grains, Europe could have its worst sunflower harvest in a decade, estimated at 8.3 million tons.
France, the largest producer, expects production to fall 15% below the five-year average, according to the country's Ministry of Agriculture.
Sunflowerseed oil prices at French ports are trading near their highest levels since November 2022, while Ukrainian prices are close to a five-month high, Commodity3 data shows.
The increase reflects growing concerns about production in 2025-26, with Ukraine and the EU together accounting for about 40% of global sunflower production, according to the US Department of Agriculture.
"In Ukraine, the largest exporter of sunflowerseed oil, the harvest is progressing slowly, but "yields are improving during the harvest in the north and west," Bloomberg writes, citing UkrAgroConsult.
The consulting company forecasts that total sunflower production will grow by more than 8% compared to last season, thanks to larger areas sown.
The Bloomberg publication notes that the harvest is actively underway in Europe, but early yields and oil content remain low.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, due to the delay in the new harvest and the lack of residues in Ukraine in September, corn exports practically stopped.
