Ukraine should scale up the production of domestic ballistic and cruise missiles — Sapsan, Flamingo and others — to increase pressure on the russian troops, military expert Ihor Romanenko, a retired lieutenant general, says, according to TSN.
"We are talking about the development of domestic ballistic and cruise missiles, drone missiles and other weapons. During these information waves, some characteristics of ballistic missiles were presented. It is important that some of them have already been brought to the level where it is necessary to conduct tests that were carried out in combat mode, or have already successfully passed them," Romanenko said.
The expert explained that the main obstacle is the transition from tests to serial production due to the complexity of the technologies and constant attacks by the enemy on production sites. "To launch all this into mass production — it will take more time," he added.
Romanenko also noted that the presence of such missiles is not a "silver bullet", but will significantly strengthen the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and allow them to hit russian military facilities. "Such results should not be expected. But the presence of such weapons will significantly increase our potential and reduce Russia's," the lieutenant general concluded.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the only way to stop the fighting is to provide Ukraine with specific security guarantees, primarily from the United States.
