The hryvnia exchange rate against the dollar is currently not threatened. Problems are possible only in the event of significant disruptions with international financial assistance, but such risks are not high. This was stated by the head of the Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy Danylo Hetmantsev in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.
"In the budget declaration, we have an average annual exchange rate of 44.7 hryvnias per dollar. We have quite large NBU reserves, which has a positive effect on the exchange rate," Hetmantsev said.
He acknowledged significant problems with the trade balance, but emphasized that they are compensated by international assistance.
"If it is rhythmic, then there will be no pressure on the exchange rate. If there are problems with international assistance, then there will also be problems with the exchange rate. But so far such risks are not high," the MP noted.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the National Bank increased the official hryvnia exchange rate, which it sets for September 15, by 2.89 kopecks to 41.2838 UAH/USD.
The National Bank has introduced managed exchange rate flexibility from October 3, 2023.
The NBU has abolished all currency restrictions on the import of works and services and allowed the repatriation of "new" dividends.
