General Staff explains damage to railway in Kyiv Region: ammunition detonated in train

The damage to the railway track in the Kyiv Region was caused by a single detonation of ammunition in a train carrying military cargo.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has reported this in a comment to Suspilne.

The General Staff reported that the explosions occurred on September 13 after 23:30 - a single detonation of ammunition in a train carrying military cargo occurred. Movement on the railway tracks was stopped, three cars were uncoupled.

It is reported that no personnel were injured.

Currently, the headquarters for the elimination of the emergency situation continues to work at the scene, the pyrotechnic service is conducting an inspection of the territory.

The General Staff added that the cause of the detonation will be established by an investigation and an official check.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, it was previously known that on the night of September 14, an emergency occurred in the Fastiv District of the Kyiv Region, as a result of which the railway infrastructure was damaged

Ukrzaliznytsia published footage from the scene of the emergency. The Kharkiv-Przemyśl train, which fell into the emergency zone near Boiarka, has already resumed its movement. All 240 passengers are safe, there are no serious injuries.
