The Japanese government and the United Kingdom have introduced new packages of sanctions against the aggressor country of russia. This was reported by the head of the President's Office, Andrii Yermak, in his Telegram channel on Friday, September 12.
The new restrictions from Japan include:
- Freezing the assets of 47 companies and 9 individuals from the russian federation, as well as a number of structures involved in the aggression against Ukraine;
- A ban on exports to two russian organizations and nine more from other countries that helped circumvent the restrictions;
- Reducing the price limit for the import of russian oil to USD 47.6 per barrel.
The United Kingdom has introduced 100 new sanctions against structures that supply the aggressor with technologies, chemicals and components for the production of missiles and drones. In addition, more than 70 vessels of the "shadow fleet" that transport russian oil in circumvention of sanctions were added to the blacklist.
"These are concrete steps that reduce the Kremlin's ability to finance the war, limit access to resources and increase pressure on the aggressor's military machine," Yermak emphasized.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, a new price ceiling for russian oil of USD 47.6 per barrel came into effect on September 3.
Also on September 3, the United Kingdom imposed sanctions against individuals and organizations responsible for the forced deportation, indoctrination and militarization of Ukrainian children.
On July 8, the European Union approved the 18th package of restrictive measures against russia. It included sanctions against more than 100 tankers from the russian shadow fleet.
