Pyshnyi announces intensive consultations with IMF on new lending program

National Bank Governor Andrii Pyshny announced intensive consultations with the International Monetary Fund on a new lending program.

He announced this on Facebook, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"The International Monetary Fund mission is completing its working visit to Kyiv. It was a busy week, during which the teams of Ukraine and the Fund held a number of important expert meetings... We focused separately on the interim results of the implementation of the current EFF program and the prospects for launching a new program to further support Ukraine," the NBU governor wrote.

According to him, Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko handed over a letter to the head of the mission, Gavin Gray, with a request for a new cooperation program, taking into account the continuation of the war and changing assumptions about the conditions for the functioning of the economy in the coming years.

Andrii Pyshnyi added that intensive consultations at the technical level between the teams of Ukraine and the IMF will take place in the coming weeks to detail the vision of the design and parameters of the new program as much as possible.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on September 3, the Cabinet of Ministers, together with the International Monetary Fund, began consultations on the state budget.

On June 30, the Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) completed the eighth review of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program with Ukraine.
