The death toll from the russian occupiers' airstrike on the village of Yarova in the north of the Donetsk Region, where people had gathered to receive pensions, has risen to 23.
The head of the Lyman City Military Administration, Oleksandr Zhuravliov, reported this on the air of Suspilne.Studiia.
According to him, as of 1:50 p.m., 23 people were known to have been killed as a result of the airstrike. Most of them are elderly people.
At least 18 more victims are known. Some of them were hospitalized in Sloviansk. Three are in serious condition.
The occupiers dropped a 250-kilogram FAB-250 air bomb on the village, the hit took place at approximately 10:40 a.m.
Police, rescuers and medics continue to work at the scene of the incident. Residential buildings near the site of the airstrike are being inspected.
As the Ukrainian News agency reported, earlier today, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported on a russian strike on a group of civilians in the village of Yarova in the Donetsk Region. The head of state published a video shot at the scene of the incident after the hit.
Ukrposhta CEO Ihor Smilianskyi later suggested that someone could have given the occupiers the coordinates of a mobile post office, which was later hit.
