For 8 months of 2025, payers of currency exchange points paid UAH 710 millionin advance income tax payments, which is UAH 186.9 million more than in 2024.
Danylo Hetmantsev, a member of the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People faction, head of the parliamentary committee on finance, tax and customs policy, announced this on the Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
At the same time, he noted that the de-shadowing of exchange operations resulted in:
- the budget received an additional UAH 415.2 million in the first half of 2025 in income tax due to advance payments, compared to UAH 275.4 million in 2024 and UAH 237.4 million in 2023;
- payers' income increased by 36% in two years;
- the number of unprofitable business entities decreased by 3 payers.
As of 08/01/2025, the Register included 3,700 exchange offices (+38 since the beginning of the year), as well as 59 legal entities (+2 new participants).
Hetmantsev added that the urgent task of law enforcement agencies is to stop the activities of illegal exchange offices and create the prerequisites for the existence of a white market for currency exchange operations.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, at the end of 2023, the National Bank allowed banks and exchangers to sell currency to the population without restrictions.
The National Bank introduced managed exchange rate flexibility from October 3, 2023. The NBU abolished all currency restrictions for the import of works and services and allowed the repatriation of "new" dividends.
