Orbán says Hungary is not anti-Ukrainian and wants future for Ukraine

Hungary is not anti-Ukrainian and does not want the collapse of its neighboring country. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán stated this, Index reports.

Orbán noted that during the war in Ukraine, the European Union is behaving like a "lame duck". According to him, the EU should be negotiating not with the United States, but with the aggressor country russia.

"We do not want to push Ukraine into nowhere, we are not anti-Ukrainian. We want a future for Ukraine, because a neighboring country that is collapsing is not in our interests either," Orbán emphasized.

Orbán also named the goals of various parties involved in the war in Ukraine. In his opinion:

  • Russia's goal is to stop the expansion of the West;
  • Ukraine's goal is to maintain the flow of financial support and avoid economic collapse;
  • The EU's goal is to support the war, thereby fighting for the position of a "great power";
  • the US goal is to reach an agreement and economically subordinate the European Union.

The Prime Minister of Hungary stressed that continuing the war is a losing strategy.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that the results of negotiations on security guarantees for Ukraine could result in its territory being divided into three parts.
