The Ukrainian Defense Forces have regained control over the settlement of Zarichne, which is located in the north of Donetsk Region.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this today, September 8.
The command said that the soldiers of the russian occupation army were driven out of the settlement by fighters of the 425th separate assault regiment "Skelia".
The General Staff published a video shot by the unit's servicemen. It shows a half-destroyed multi-story building with a Ukrainian flag flying on its facade. A Ukrainian serviceman reports off-camera about the liberation of Zarichne.
The settlement of Zarichne is located in the north of Donetsk Region, a few kilometers from the administrative border of the Luhansk Region.
On the interactive map of the Ukrainian analytical project DeepState, the appearance of a "gray zone" in the territory of the village dates back to August 5 of this year. And on August 26, analysts reported on the advance of the occupiers into the eastern part of the settlement.
At the time of publication of the news, DeepState had not updated its map. The approximate front line on this section of the front looks as follows.
