Great Britain to head headquarters of multinational forces in Ukraine - media

Multinational Forces in Ukraine (MNF-U) operational headquarters is being formed in Kyiv to deter possible attacks after the probable conclusion of a peace agreement with the russian federation.

This is reported by the defense publication UK Defence Journal.

According to journalists, the headquarters in Kyiv will be headed by a British major general, and the management of the multinational command will be carried out from Paris and London.

"Currently, it is planned that France and Great Britain will jointly provide lieutenant generals. This issue will be reviewed when the details of any ceasefire become known," the report says.

Initially, the multinational command will operate in Paris, then it is planned to transfer it to London while maintaining the Anglo-French management scheme.

It is expected that more than 30 countries will participate in the MNF-U, and the working language of the headquarters will be English.

By involving senior command staff and rapid reaction forces, the United Kingdom is leading one of the largest international operations in Europe since the Balkan wars of the 1990s, the publication adds.
