On Saturday, September 6, residents of the capital recorded a fire on Demiyivska Square in Kyiv. Judging by the columns of smoke, the Roshen confectionery factory, linked to ex-president Petro Poroshenko, was on fire.
Local media outlets were the first to report the fire.
It was noted that the fire was spreading rapidly and the amount of smoke was increasing.
"A huge fire at the Roshen factory in Demiyivka," the report said.
Officially, information about the fire and the casualties at the Roshen confectionery factory was not confirmed.
Later, it became known that the fire was extinguished by the company's forces.
Pavlo Petrov, the spokesman for the State Emergency Service oin Kyiv, confirmed to RBC-Ukraine that a fire had broken out at the Roshen confectionery factory.
