Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney is convinced that the international community and the Ukrainian Defense Forces must exert maximum pressure on russia to force it to peace.
This was reported by the CBC website.
On Friday, September 5, Carney said that Canada and other allies should continue to exert "maximum pressure" on Moscow.
He noted that Kremlin leader vladimir putin "has not yet come to terms with the need for peace."
"Putin is the cause of this war, he is the cause of the killings. He will not dictate the terms of peace," he stressed.
Carney said that pressure from allies on russia would include imposing new sanctions, providing arms to Ukrainian troops, and supporting Ukraine "after the cessation of hostilities."
The Canadian Prime Minister added that the next round of sanctions is currently being prepared by Ukraine's allies.
