The priority area in the 2026 state budget will be financing defense spending. In second place is the social sphere.
Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko reported on the progress of the preparation of the 2026 state budget.
According to her, the draft budget provides for UAH 36.5 billion to support communities, UAH 120 billion for education - from the construction of shelters in schools and kindergartens to free meals, and UAH 15 billion for housing for displaced people.
The 2026 budget will be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada on September 15.
The head of government also noted that preparations for the 2025/2026 heating season are underway. The state of readiness of the infrastructure in the main sectors is over 80%.
