The Ukrainian Defense Forces are creating an echeloned system to counter the drones of the aggressor country russia, for which they are increasing the number of crews and increasing the effectiveness of the fight against enemy targets.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, reported this on his Telegram channel on Thursday, September 4.
The Commander-in-Chief noted that he had held a meeting on the effectiveness of air defense. According to him, the current task is to form more crews to counter russian "Gerans" and "Shaheds", train more fighter operators, and provide more effective means of destruction and radar.
"During the meeting, I heard reports on the effectiveness of task performance by UAV interceptor units; the status and prospects of providing units with various types of drones; the procedure for further actions to increase the effectiveness of combating enemy strike and reconnaissance UAVs; there are problematic issues and proposals for their resolution," Syrskyi wrote.
The selection process for recruiting UAV interceptor crews and forming new regular units is also underway. Syrskyi emphasized that he set a task to eliminate shortcomings and strengthen work in the area of interceptor drones.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on September 3, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi announced a significant increase in security measures at training centers over the summer.
