Taras Tkach has been appointed as the acting general director of the Rivne Nuclear Power Plant, replacing the acting chairman of the board of Energoatom, Pavlo Kovtoniuk.
This is announced in a statement by the Energoatom national nuclear power generating company, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The report states that within the framework of the working trip, the acting chairman of the board of JSC Energoatom national nuclear power generating company Pavlo Kovtoniuk held a production meeting with the staff of the Rivne Nuclear Power Plant and introduced the new head of the plant, Taras Tkach, who previously held the position of executive director for production and repairs at the company.
As Kovtoniuk noted, Tkach was actively involved in the implementation of modernization measures and the implementation of a comprehensive (consolidated) program to improve the safety of power units of Ukrainian nuclear power plants.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on August 21, the supervisory board of Energoatom satisfied the application of the acting chairman of the board of the company Petro Kotin to terminate his powers and appointed Pavlo Kovtoniuk, who was the general director of the Rivne NPP, in his place.
In February 2023, the Verkhovna Rada approved the corporatization of the Energoatom national nuclear power generating company.
