Rada decides to resume live broadcast of its sessions

The Verkhovna Rada decided to resume live broadcast of its sessions. This was announced by Yaroslav Zhelezniak, a member from the Holos faction, on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"After almost 4 years, the Verkhovna Rada has resumed its broadcast of Parliament sessions," he said.

266 MPs voted for the relevant resolution No. 13719, with the minimum required 226.

Zhelezniak noted that they refused to resume the broadcast today, so it will only start working from mid-September.

At the same time, the Verkhovna Rada member from the European Solidarity faction Oleksii Honcharenko noted on the Telegram channel that although the resolution states that it comes into force from the date of adoption, it still has to be signed by the speaker, the presiding first vice-speaker Oleksandr Korniyenko stated that there is a conflict and all clarifications regarding the start of the broadcast of the sessions will be provided today by the Rada's Office.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, after the start of the full-scale invasion in 2022, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a resolution that provides for the termination of live broadcasts, instead, the video of the sessions is published with an hour's delay after completion.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk stated that the parliamentary sessions are not broadcast live for security reasons.

As an exception, on July 31, the Rada's vote on the resonant bill No. 13533, on the return of the powers of the NABU and the SAPO, was shown online on the parliament's YouTube channel for the first time since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
