In August, Ukraine ups electricity exports by 60% to 450,000 MWh

In August, compared to July, Ukraine increased electricity exports by 60% to 450,000 MWh.

This is announced by the ExPro publication, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The report states that since the date of integration of the Ukrainian power system into ENTSO-E, the monthly electricity export rate is a record.

It is noted that the largest shares in the export structure were occupied by Hungary (38%) and Moldova (29%).

In August 2024, there was no electricity export.

According to preliminary data, in August 2025, Ukraine exported more than 170,000 MWh to Hungary, while imports in this direction for the corresponding period amounted to only 110,000 MWh.

In total, in June-August 2025, electricity exports to Hungary amounted to more than 380,000 MWh, which is 27% more than imports for this period.

Electricity imports to Ukraine in August 2025, compared to July, increased by only 2.5% - to 264,000 MWh.

Deliveries increased in all directions, except for Poland and Slovakia.

Hungary's share in the import structure remains the largest - 41%.

Compared to August last year, imports decreased by 44%.

Thus, according to the results of August 2025, Ukraine is a net exporter of electricity.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in July, compared to June, Ukraine increased electricity exports by 16% to 282,200 MWh.
