Russian leader vladimir putin has arrived in China for an official four-day visit. During his stay, he plans to hold a number of bilateral and multilateral meetings, as well as take part in a large military parade.
This was reported in the Kremlin.
On August 31 and September 1, putin will speak at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in the port city of Tianjin. In addition to him, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and about twenty other leaders from Central Asia, the Middle East, South and Southeast Asia are expected at the summit. According to media reports, the leaders of Iran, Belarus, Indonesia, North Korea and Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico will be among the participants.

On September 2, a trilateral meeting of the presidents of russia, China and Mongolia will be held in Beijing, where the parties will discuss key areas of cooperation in various sectors. Putin will also hold talks with Xi Jinping on further strengthening the strategic partnership and practical cooperation between russia and China.
On September 3, putin will attend the ceremonial events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory over militaristic Japan and the end of World War II. According to Reuters, the parade will be one of the largest in China in recent years, and it is planned to demonstrate the latest weapons, including fighter jets, missile defense systems and hypersonic weapons.

As a reminder, analysts believe that moscow, despite participating in the summit in China, will receive limited benefits: oil and gas contracts with China are mainly beneficial to Beijing, financial corridors remain tactical, and new transport routes bypass russia. The "anti-Western bloc" exists only in words: China plays it cool and uses russia for its own interests, while moscow tries to create an image of parity, giving up part of its sovereignty for the illusion of big politics.
