A soldier of the aggressor country of the russian federation shot a civilian in Novoekonomichne, Donetsk Region. Prosecutors have launched an investigation into another war crime by the occupiers. This is indicated in a statement by the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office.
Thus, it is reported that a video documenting another war crime by russian troops against the civilian population was published on one of the Telegram channels.
According to the investigation, on August 28, 2025, in the village of Novoekonomichne, Pokrovsk District, a soldier of the armed forces of the russian federation hid behind the garage of a private household. Seeing a man in the yard, he fired an aimed shot and killed a civilian with an automatic weapon.
"Information on the fact of a war crime that caused the death of a person (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) has been entered into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations. Under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, investigators of the Main Directorate of the SSU in the Donetsk and Luhansk Regions are conducting a pre-trial investigation," the report states.
Urgent investigative (search) actions are currently being taken to identify the deceased and the russian serviceman involved in the commission of the specified crime.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in early August in the Donetsk Region, a soldier of the aggressor country, russia, shot a civilian during an evacuation attempt.
