Warsaw will help Kyiv with logistics and airports for aircraft, but will not send troops to Ukraine

Poland is ready to take on the role of key logistics support for military units that will operate on the territory of Ukraine after the end of active hostilities. This involves the creation of logistical infrastructure, bases, and the use of Polish airports for allied aircraft. However, Warsaw is not going to send troops to Ukraine due to the "great threat on the border with Russia and Belarus."

Polish Deputy Defense Minister Paweł Zalewski stated this after a meeting of EU defense ministers in Copenhagen, the RMF24 radio portal reports.

According to Zalewski, without such a contribution from Poland, security guarantees for Ukraine will be incomplete.

"Without what Poland offers, there will be no security guarantees," he stressed.

At the same time, the official emphasized that Warsaw is not considering the option of sending its military to Ukraine and will not participate in ground operations:

"The threat on the border with Russia and Belarus is so great that Poland's task is to protect the security of Europe in this area. Therefore, we cannot weaken our own forces," Zalewski explained.

As the deputy minister specified, the guarantees discussed within the framework of the "coalition of the willing" provide for the possible presence of European troops on the territory of Ukraine and an operation to protect Ukrainian skies after the end of the war.

According to him, Poland will play a central role in this process - it will provide logistics, logistics and provide airports for aircraft that will participate in future operations.
