Russia resumes oil pumping to Hungary via Druzhba pipeline - Szijjártó

Oil pumping via the Druzhba pipeline will resume on August 28, but only in test mode. Since the beginning of the month, Ukraine has attacked the pipeline infrastructure twice.

Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó wrote about this on Facebook on August 27.

According to him, the damage caused to the pipeline as a result of Ukraine's latest attack was significant. For this reason, restoration work will be delayed for several more days.

Szijjártó also said that he had discussed the situation with the Deputy Minister of Energy of the aggressor country, russia, Pavel Sorokin.

"It turned out that during the intense work, a technical solution was found, thanks to which oil supplies to Hungary will resume from tomorrow," Szijjártó wrote.

He emphasized that the oil pumping will be carried out in a test mode and in a smaller volume.

The Hungarian Foreign Minister added that the country continues to use domestic commercial reserves, so it has not yet had to resort to strategic reserves.

On the night of August 19, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the Nikolske oil pumping station in the Tambov Oblast of the russian federation. It is part of the infrastructure of the Druzhba oil pipeline.

On the night of August 22, the Ukrainian military repeated the attack, but this time struck the Unecha station in the Bryansk Oblast.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on August 22, Hungarian Foreign Minister Szijjártó said that due to the attack on the Unecha station, oil pumping through the Druzhba oil pipeline would be impossible for at least five days.
