Zelenskyy congratulates Moldova on Independence Day

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated President of Moldova Maia Sandu and the Moldovan people on Independence Day.

He wrote about this on the social network X.

"I sincerely congratulate President Maia Sandu and the people of Moldova on your Independence Day. We greatly value the close cooperation between our nations. Our region is deeply interconnected, and together we must protect our peoples, our states, and our independence. This is exactly what we are doing. And we remember: Only together, in a united Europe, can we ensure reliable security and a decent life for all our people.

It should be noted that on August 24, Moldovan President Maia Sandu congratulated Ukraine on Independence Day.

"Today, more than ever, Moldova stands with Ukraine. Your courage safeguards our freedom too. Moldova will spare no effort to remain a strong and reliable neighbour - defending sovereignty, advancing on the European path, and working for peace. Slava Ukraini!" Sandu congratulated.

Reference. On August 27, 1991, the Great National Assembly was convened in the Moldavian SSR. As a result, the Parliament voted to adopt the Declaration of Independence.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in the meantime, Lithuania has proposed to the EU countries to start technical negotiations with Ukraine and Moldova on joining the EU without the participation of Hungary.
