Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko met with the Vice Chancellor and Minister of Finance of Germany Lars Klingbeil. They discussed increasing assistance and security guarantees for Ukraine. Klitschko reported this on the Telegram channel.
"We inspected together a residential building in the Sviatoshynskyi District, where on July 31 a Russian missile destroyed an entire entrance. And where 29 peaceful Kyiv residents were killed. During the conversation with Mr. Klingbeil, I emphasized the need to increase assistance to Ukraine - military and economic - in order to establish peace in our state. And the need for reliable security guarantees for our country so that this peace is not temporary," Vitali Klitschko wrote.

The Mayor of Kyiv also reported that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion in the city, 3,129 buildings, including 2,134 apartment buildings, have been damaged to varying degrees. Of these, 957 in 2025.

"The Vice Chancellor assured that Germany, which is the second country (after the US) in terms of aid, will continue to support and assist Ukraine. In particular, this will also apply to security guarantees," Vitali Klitschko emphasized.

It was previously reported that Vitali Klitschko met with the chairman of the defense committee of the German Bundestag, Thomas Röwekamp. During the meeting, issues of strengthening assistance and security guarantees were also discussed.
