Iran claims russia helped Israel destroy Iranian air defense system during 12-day war

During the 12-day war (June 13-24, 2025) between Israel and Iran, the aggressor country russia provided Jerusalem with information that helped the Israeli army destroy the Iranian air defense system.

Mohammad Sadr, a member of the Iranian National Interest Council, stated this in an interview with Seenergyir, as quoted by Israel Hayom.

"Russia provided intelligence to Israel that helped destroy Iran's air defense system," Sadr said.

According to him, the 12-day war demonstrated russia's bias in favor of Israel, as well as the fact that Tehran's strategic agreement with moscow turned out to be nonsense.

"Russia sold the S-400 system to Turkey, a NATO member, but not to Iran. It has not even been willing to sell us the Su-35 fighter jets until now. We must not think that Russia will come to Iran's aid when the time comes," Sadr added.

The 12-day war is one of the stages of the conflict between Iran and Israel, which lasted from June 13 to 24, 2025. The reason was Jerusalem's desire to prevent Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

As a result of the fighting, the Israeli army caused serious damage to Iran's military and nuclear infrastructure. After that, the parties agreed on a ceasefire.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in early July of this year, the Middle East Eye newspaper wrote, citing its own sources, that after the end of the 12-day war, Iran agreed with China to supply air defense systems.
