Kyiv receives record tourist fee in half a year of almost UAH 35 million

Kyiv received a record tourist fee in two quarters of 2025 during martial law.

The Department of Tourism and Promotions of the Kyiv City State Administration has announced this, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

The report states that in two quarters of 2025, the tourist fee increased by almost 65% to UAH 34.8 million compared to the same period in 2024 (UAH 22.6 million).

It is noted that 2024-2025 marked the beginning of the restoration of the tourism sector of the city of Kyiv.

Last year, the capital's income from the tourist fee amounted to UAH 50.83 million, which significantly exceeded the indicators of previous years, in particular, in 2022, the tourist fee amounted to UAH 38.8 million, and in 2023 - UAH 38.5 million.

"Today, the tourism sector continues to fuel the economy and provide revenues that are directed to the urgent needs of the city during martial law.

Such developments were made possible, in particular, thanks to the coordinated work of Ukrainian cities on the development of domestic tourism, promotional activities in the international arena and within the country, as well as cooperation between the tourism community, business and local authorities," the report says.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Kyiv City Council introduced a tourist tax on January 1, 2012 in the amount of 1% of the total cost of the entire period of stay in hotel-type establishments.
