Slovakia threatens to stop diesel fuel supplies to Ukraine due to strike on Druzhba

Slovakia threatens to leave Ukraine without large volume of Slovak diesel fuel due to strikes on the Druzhba oil pipeline. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia Juraj Blanár has stated this, Teraz reports.

Thus, he stated that the Slovak oil refinery Slovnaft, which uses russian oil for its work, is a major supplier of oil products to Ukraine, which, according to the head of the Slovak Foreign Ministry, provides 10% of its monthly consumption. In particular, thanks to this refinery, Ukraine receives diesel fuel from Slovakia.

"We understand how difficult it is for Ukraine, but this infrastructure is also very important for us, especially when we see that Ukraine itself is harming its own interests, because it risks not having enough fuel on its side. Our national interest lies in protecting these supplies, and therefore we are also communicating openly with the Ukrainian side. And I will continue to do so at the European level," he says.

He also added that he does not want to escalate the situation between Kyiv and Bratislava, and called for a "pragmatic approach."
