Sybiha responds to Szijjártó's accusation that Zelenskyy threatened Hungary

Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had threatened his country. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha responded to this on his X-account.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha responded to Szijjártó accusations, calling on Zelenskyy to "stop threats to Hungary and reckless attacks on our energy security." The Hungarian Foreign Minister said that Ukraine has carried out serious attacks on energy security in recent days, which he called "an attack on sovereignty."

"I will reply in a Hungarian manner. You don't need to tell the Ukrainian President what to do or say, and when. He is the President of Ukraine, not Hungary. Hungary's energy security is in your own hands. Diversify and become independent from Russia, like the rest of Europe," Sybiha replied.

The Hungarian Foreign Minister also published Zelenskyy's comment on the Druzhba oil pipeline, where the Ukrainian President said that the friendship between Ukraine and Hungary now "depends on Hungary's position".

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on August 22, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said that the latest strike by the Ukrainian Defense Forces on the Druzhba oil pipeline infrastructure led to its shutdown for at least five days.

Also on August 22, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that US President Donald Trump was very angry about Ukraine's shelling of the Druzhba oil pipeline.

On August 22, it became known that Hungary and Slovakia appealed to the European Union with a demand to respond to Ukraine's attacks on the Druzhba oil pipeline and take measures.
