The United States expects that the war in Ukraine can end in the next three to six months thanks to diplomatic efforts. This was stated by US Vice President JD Vance in an interview with the Meet the Press program on NBC News.
"This is a war and we want to stop the killing. The russians have done a lot of things that we don't like, a lot of civilians have been killed. We have condemned this from the very beginning," Vance stressed.
He also noted that the current President Donald Trump, in his opinion, has done more to pressure russia than his predecessor Joe Biden.
"What infuriates me? I am infuriated by the continuation of the war... What really makes me happy now? The fact that we have a President who is engaged in vigorous diplomacy to try to stop the killing. This is the way it should be," the Vice President assured.
Vance stressed that Americans should be proud of these efforts: "And whatever the outcome - the war will end in three or six months, hopefully no later - we should be proud that we have a President who is trying to stop the killing."
In addition, according to him, the Kremlin has already been forced to make concessions: russia has admitted that it will not be able to establish a puppet regime in Kyiv, and Ukraine will retain its territorial integrity after the war.
Recall that the Pentagon has been blocking Ukraine's strikes on russia with long-range missiles for months.
