Supervisory Board appoints Kovtoniuk Energoatom JSC Acting Board Chair, relieving Kotin from this position

The Supervisory Board of the Joint Stock Company "National Atomic Power Generating Company "Energoatom" has satisfied the application of the Acting Chairman of the Board of the company Petro Kotin to terminate his powers and appointed Pavlo Kovtoniuk, who is the Director General of the Rivne NPP.

This is stated in the company's message, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

The message states that Kovtoniuk has the experience and professional qualities necessary for this role, which will ensure the stable operation of the company and proper preparation for the critically important autumn-winter period.

In addition, it is proposed to create three new key positions: Chief Operating Officer (COO), Vice President for Governance and Ethics, and Vice President for Finance and Strategy.

It is noted that the Supervisory Board will soon begin a competitive selection for the position of permanent Chairman of the Board, as well as for all other current positions on the Board.

In connection with this competition and the need to maintain a total of five positions on the Board, the Supervisory Board decided to begin the process of creating new roles on the Board to meet the current needs of the Company, implement best practices, and increase transparency.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in early January 2024, as part of corporatization, the Cabinet of Ministers established the Joint Stock Company "National Nuclear Energy Generating Company "Energoatom", 100% of the shares of which are owned by the state, by transforming the state-owned enterprise "National Nuclear Energy Generating Company "Energoatom" and appointed Petro Kotin, the President of the state-owned enterprise NNEGC "Energoatom", as Acting Chairman of the Board.

In February 2023, the Verkhovna Rada approved the corporatization of the National Nuclear Energy Generating Company "Energoatom".

In June 2023, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the plan for the corporatization of "Energoatom".
