Polish prosecutor's office found that a military unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) crashed and exploded in the Lublin Voivodeship.
The district prosecutor in Lublin, Grzegorz Trusiewicz, has stated this as quoted by Polish Radio.
According to him, the investigation has ruled out the possibility that the cause of the explosion was a civilian drone or a smugglers' drone.
"However, specific results will be known only after all investigations are completed," Trusiewicz said.
According to Polish Radio, earlier the country's Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz stated that Poland is holding consultations with Romania, which already has experience in such cases.
Also today, the Polish Armed Forces stated that an object similar to a fragment of an engine with a propeller was found at the site of the explosion. It is not excluded that it could have been a russian drone.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of August 19-20, an explosion occurred in the Lublin Voivodeship of Poland after an unidentified object fell.
The incident occurred near the settlement of Osiny. Three buildings were damaged as a result of the explosion. There were no fatalities or injuries.
