About 10 countries ready to send troops to Ukraine for security guarantees – Bloomberg

About ten states are considering the possibility of sending their troops to Ukraine as part of a future package of security guarantees. According to Bloomberg, European leaders are seeking to strengthen Kyiv's position ahead of a possible meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and russian dictator vladimir putin.

According to the publication, the final package of guarantees may be agreed upon this week. The plan involves the introduction of European troops as part of a potential peace deal. The decision was supported by US President Donald Trump, after which European countries intensified consultations.

Bloomberg sources said that at a meeting of European officials on Tuesday, a plan to send British and French troops was discussed, including the number and positions. We are talking about hundreds of soldiers who could be stationed in Ukraine, but away from the front lines.

"About 10 countries would be ready to send forces to the war-battered nation," the publication's interlocutors noted.

The UK government has confirmed that European and American military leaders will meet in the coming days to discuss "robust security guarantees and prepare for the deployment of a reassurance force if the hostilities ended." The talks will include NATO's Supreme Allied Commander Europe and defense ministers from the Alliance.

The first stage involves providing assistance to the Ukrainian army in the form of training and reinforcements. The plan will later include intelligence sharing, border control, the supply of weapons and possibly air defense systems.

The United States, despite the absence of its troops on Ukrainian territory, is expected to continue providing intelligence and military equipment through partners.

As a reminder, the administration of US President Donald Trump does not rule out providing Ukraine with air support as part of future security guarantees.
