The responsibility for the deployment of a foreign contingent in Ukraine lies with the countries of the Coalition of the Willing and remains open for now. This was stated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Washington at a press conference.
"We are talking about the "Coalition of the Willing", we will talk about 30 countries, we will understand which of these countries can actually offer what. Someone will probably be ready to talk about presence, someone about intelligence, someone about the sea, someone about sky security, different formats," Zelenskyy said.
He also reported that some countries will not be able to send a military contingent due to legal restrictions.
"Some of the countries participating in the "Coalition of the Willing" do not have the constitutional right to deploy troops. But at the same time, such countries have the opportunity to finance Ukrainian production," Zelenskyy said.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on August 18, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with US President Donald Trump on the doorstep of the White House.
On August 18, US President Donald Trump said that today there will be a decision on all issues, including security guarantees for Ukraine.
Trump also did not rule out sending American troops to Ukraine as part of the security guarantees.
