Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked US President Donald Trump more than 10 times during a meeting at the White House. This is reported by The Wall Street Journal.
Thus, the publication recalled that during the previous meeting, Volodymyr Zelenskyy was accused of insufficient gratitude for US aid, when he had a public argument with President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance. Then Vance asked Zelenskyy if he had thanked at least once for the entire meeting.
The Trump administration and conservative American media reproached Zelenskyy for not expressing proper gratitude to the US for its aid to Ukraine during his first meeting with the US President at the White House in February, which ended in a scandal. "Did you say 'thank you' at least once?" - in particular, Vice President JD Vance asked him at the time.
Reuters also reported that Zelenskyy said "thanks" at least eight times, while The Wall Street Journal wrote that the words of gratitude were uttered "about ten times."
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on August 18, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with US President Donald Trump on the doorstep of the White House.
On August 18, Zelenskyy reported that he had coordinated positions with the leaders of Finland, Great Britain, Italy, the European Commission, and the NATO Secretary General before meeting with US President Donald Trump.
