Ian McKellen has confirmed that the characters Frodo and Gandalf will appear in the new film in the "Lord of the Rings" universe - "The Hunt for Gollum". The actor spoke about this during the For the Love of Fantasy event in London, EW writes.
According to McKellen, filming will start in May 2026. At the same time, he did not specify whether Elijah Wood will return to the role of Frodo. Other actors, who also participated in the event, did not comment on the movie.
The film will be directed by Andy Serkis, who will also play the main role of Gollum. The premiere is scheduled for December 2027.
Earlier, Ian McKellen said that the story of "The Hunt for Gollum" will be divided into two movies.
