Coalition of Willing ready to deploy security forces to Ukraine after ceasefire

The Coalition of the Willing is ready to deploy security forces to Ukraine after a ceasefire, to protect the air and sea space, and to rebuild the Armed Forces of Ukraine, according to a statement following a coalition meeting published on the British government's website on Sunday, August 17.

Coalition leaders held a virtual meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The main topics of the meeting were support for Ukraine and the next steps in peace talks following US President Donald Trump's meeting with president putin in Alaska.

"The leaders also praised President Trump's commitment to provide security guarantees to Ukraine, in which the Coalition of the Willing will play a vital role through the Multinational Force in Ukraine, among other measures. They reiterated their readiness to deploy support forces after the cessation of hostilities, as well as to help secure Ukraine's skies and seas and rebuild Ukraine's Armed Forces," the statement said.

The leaders also confirmed their support for Ukraine and announced their readiness for further consultations with the US President in Washington.
