Defense Forces hit russian column in Kursk Oblast, russian North troop group deputy commander wounded

On the night of August 17, the Defense Forces of Ukraine hit a russian column on a highway in the Kursk Oblast of the russian federation. As a result, the deputy commander of the North troop group of the russian armed forces was seriously injured.

The Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has reported this on Facebook.

"On the night of August 16-17, Ukrainian units inflicted fire damage on an enemy column on the Rylsk-Khomutovka highway in the Kursk Oblast of the russian federation. As a result of the strike, lieutenant general Abachev, the deputy commander of the North troop group of the russian armed forces, was seriously injured," the report says.

It is noted that the wounded man was urgently taken to the Vishnevsky Central Clinical Hospital in moscow by military transport aircraft. As a result of his injuries, Abachev's arm and leg were amputated.

"The Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reminds - for every war crime against the Ukrainian people there will be a fair retribution!" the department added.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, last day, on August 16, in the temporarily occupied Melitopol of the Zaporizhzhia Region, as a result of an operation by the Defense Intelligence, an ammunition depot and russian invaders were destroyed, whom the aggressor state had transferred to the Zaporizhzhia Front.

Meanwhile, the Defense Forces of Ukraine cleared the settlements of Hruzske, Rubizhne, Novovodiane, Petrivka, Vesele, Zolotyi Kolodiaz in the Donetsk Region. In addition, Ukrainian units advanced in the Yablunivka area of the Sumy Region - the advance amounted to up to 1,000 meters.
