On August 14, a Ukrainian sniper eliminated two russian occupiers from a distance of 4,000 meters, thus breaking the record also held by Ukrainian sniper Vyacheslav Kovalskyi with a hit range of 3,800 meters. Journalist Yurii Butusov reported this on his Telegram channel on Friday, August 15.
Butusov noted that the Ukrainian sniper fired from a 14.5 mm Aligator rifle using artificial intelligence and under the correction of a drone complex. The elimination of the occupiers took place on the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad defense line.
"Incredible accuracy and updating the world record for the range of defeat! The Ukrainian sniper eliminated two russian servicemen from a distance of 4,000 meters. The bullet passed through the window behind which the occupiers were (to the left of the pipe)," the journalist wrote.
The previous record was set in November 2023 by a Ukrainian sniper from the SSU unit. 58-year-old Vyacheslav Kovalskyi in the Kherson Region eliminated an invader from a multi-caliber sniper rifle of Ukrainian production Horizon's Lord at a distance of 3,800 meters.
At the same time, in the area of responsibility of the Donetsk OSTG, where, in particular, 8 platoons of the combined sniper unit Pryvyd operate, almost 1,000 invaders were destroyed in this direction over the year, Butusov emphasized.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, a sniper from the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense with the call sign "Lektor" destroyed a russian invader with a 338LM caliber bullet at a distance of 2,069 meters.
Also, a border guard sniper with the call sign "Krasivyi" hit a russian officer with the first shot, for whom he had been waiting for 11 hours.
In addition, snipers from the Special Operations Forces (SOF) showed a video of one of their snipers eliminating russian intelligence officers.
