Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko instructed to conduct an audit of subsoil users who have received permits at strategically important fields. Svyrydenko announced this on the Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"I have instructed the Ministry of Economy and the State Service of Geology and Mineral Resources to conduct an audit of all subsoil users who have received permits at strategically important fields. We plan to check who is actually working and who holds licenses without production. Such facilities must either produce results or return to the auction for bona fide investors," she said.
Svyrydenko added that they also decided to restart competitions for the distribution of hydrocarbons at the Mezhyhirska and Svichanska areas with the right of the US partner to buy out products.
"The terms have been updated - with the right of the US partner to buy out the products and a guarantee that other participants will not be offered more favorable terms. This is the implementation of the provisions of the US-Ukrainian agreement on the creation of an investment fund for reconstruction," the Prime Minister said.
At the same time, she emphasized that Ukrainian natural resources should work for the Ukrainian economy.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Svyrydenko previously reported that Ukraine, together with the US, is preparing three joint projects for the extraction of minerals, which are planned to be implemented within the next 18 months, within the framework of a bilateral agreement on subsoil.
