In July 2025, the aggressor country of russia set a new monthly record for the use of drones against Ukraine - about 6,200 devices of various types. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom, citing its own intelligence data on the social network X on August 13.
"In July 2025, russia launched approximately 6,200 unmanned aerial vehicles against Ukraine, which is a new monthly record, exceeding the approximately 5,600 launched in June 2025," the report says.
The intelligence also recorded several daily records for the use of attack drones of the Shahed type. At the same time, as noted, decoy drones were actively used - this tactic has already become typical for russian attacks.
In addition, the russian long-range bombers "maintained operational pace", continuing to demonstrate combat capability after the Ukrainian operation Spiderweb.
In July, seven strike groups of russian bombers were recorded, which launched more than 70 missiles over the territory of Ukraine.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Ukrainian OSINT project CyberBoroshno stated that the russians are equipping a launch site for Shaheds on the territory of the occupied Donetsk airport.
Meanwhile, the commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert ("Magyar") Brovdi, stated that in the near future the russians will launch 1,000 or more Shaheds daily.
