Pressure should be on russia, not Ukraine – Kallas on territorial concessions

The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs, Kaja Kallas, believes that it is necessary to put pressure on the russian authorities to make territorial concessions in the war with Ukraine.

She said this in an interview with Suspilne.

"I want to emphasize that there is one aggressor and one victim here. In fact, pressure should be put on Russia, not on Ukraine, to make any additional concessions. Also, the fact that Ukraine agreed to an unconditional ceasefire is already a concession made by Kyiv," said Kallas.

She emphasized that since the start of the full-scale invasion, russia has not made a single concession.

"They (the russian authorities — Ed.) have not changed their goals. And to really stop this war, we need to put pressure on the aggressor, not the victim," Kallas added.

Recall that German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul stressed that violence should not change borders.
