According to the results of the third stage of Operation "Guardian", police officers have exposed about 30 persons liable for military service trying to evade service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The National Police has announced this, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
In particular, suspicion was reported to almost 30 people, among whom were both civilians and military personnel who used fictitious medical certificates to be released from service.
The main scheme consisted of submitting documents to military units about their alleged poor health or the need to care for sick relatives.
More than 60 searches have been conducted throughout Ukraine so far, and the perpetrators face up to ten years in prison.
In one case, a serviceman submitted documents to the territorial recruiting center stating that his mother and wife had group II disability; during the inspection, it turned out that neither of the women had sought medical care or received medical assistance.
In another episode, a person liable for military service provided a certificate of unfitness for service due to health conditions, but in fact, doctors recommended only a short-term leave of up to 30 days with subsequent return to duty.
Another serviceman self-mutilated, thus trying to avoid mobilization measures.
Criminal proceedings are being investigated under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
Part 4 of Article 409 (Evasion of military service by self-mutilation or other means),
Article 336 (Evasion of conscription during mobilization),
Article 358 (Forgery of documents and their use),
Part 3 of Article 190 (Fraud).
During the first two stages of the large-scale special operation "Guardian", police officers uncovered about 100 facts of forging certificates of care for people with disabilities, using fictitious documents, servicemen and conscripts tried to avoid military service obligations.
Currently, law enforcement officers continue to collect evidence to bring all those involved in the "scheme" to criminal responsibility.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in July, the State Bureau of Investigation exposed employees of the territorial recruitment and social support center in Zaporizhzhia who helped 1,500 men evade mobilization.
